Who Are We?

Welcome to Selkirk Rex Kitten Home! We are a family-owned cattery based in MA State, dedicated to the love and care of Selkirk Rex cats. Our journey with these amazing felines began years ago when we welcomed our first kitten into our home, sparking a passion for breeding and raising healthy, socialized, and happy Sphinx kittens.

At Selkirk Rex Kitten Home, the well-being of our cats is our top priority. We provide them with a clean and secure environment, following ethical breeding standards. Working closely with our trusted veterinarian, we ensure our cats receive the best care and maintain optimal health.

Our kittens are raised underfoot, receiving plenty of socialization from the moment they open their eyes. This early interaction helps them adapt to various environments and family dynamics, fostering their ability to form lifelong bonds with their new families.

We take immense pride in our Selkirk Rex kittens, striving to produce kittens that meet the breed’s high standards. Each kitten comes with a comprehensive health guarantee and is up-to-date on vaccinations and deworming, ensuring their well-being from the start.

We are delighted to assist you in finding the perfect Selkirk Rex kitten that will bring joy and companionship to your home. Join us at Selkirk Rex Kitten Home, where passion and dedication combine to create exceptional feline companions.

Adoption Information for Selkirk Rex Kittens From Us

Thank you for your interest in adopting a Selkirk Rex kitten from our cattery located in Gonzales, Texas. We appreciate your consideration and want to ensure that our kittens find loving and suitable homes. To begin the adoption process, we kindly ask potential adopters to complete our online kitten application. This application covers important questions about your lifestyle, experience with pets, and your expectations as a pet owner. Once we receive your application, we will reach out to you to discuss the next steps.

Deposit and Reservation:

If you would like to reserve an available kitten, a $500 deposit is required at the time of reservation. For those interested in joining our waiting list, a non-refundable deposit of $100 secures a spot on the list. Our waiting list follows a pick/pass system, allowing you to wait for the specific cat you desire. It’s important to note that the deposit amount will be applied to the purchase cost when a kitten becomes available. The remaining balance must be paid when the kitten reaches 12 weeks of age or before the pick-up date, whichever comes first.

Kitten Collection:

We offer flexible options for receiving your kitten. You can either arrange for pick-up at our cattery or opt for delivery, which can be facilitated by a dedicated nanny service. Nannies are experienced professionals, often off-duty flight attendants, who specialize in the safe and comfortable transportation of Sphynx cats.

Sphynx Care:

Sphynx cats require specific care due to their hairless nature. We have a dedicated webpage with Sphynx Cat Care Tips, where you can find valuable information on providing the best care for your kitten.

Veterinary Care:

Your kitten will come with a health certificate from a veterinarian and copies of the negative HCM scan results from both parents. It is crucial to take your kitten to a vet within 48 hours of receiving them. Finding a vet familiar with the Sphynx breed is important for their overall well-being, and we can recommend a trusted veterinarian located in Texas.

Vaccination Recommendations:

We strongly recommend the following vaccinations for your kitten:

  • FVRCP: The first dose should be administered between 6-8 weeks, followed by subsequent doses every 4 weeks until the age of 16 weeks (total of 4 doses).
  • FeLV: Administered once during the first year of life.
  • Rabies: Administered once during the first year of life, followed by annual boosters.

Please note that we do not recommend the FIP vaccination for Sphynx cats, as it has been associated with fatal FIP outbreaks in the breed.

We sincerely appreciate your consideration in adopting a Selkirk Rex kitten from us. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us. Our priority is to ensure that our kittens find the best possible homes and live happy and healthy lives.
